it lets you search for people, places, and things, but more notably, there's a new map view. The Search tab is meant to make it easier to find the right photos and videos you're looking for. You'll be able to hide specific people and time periods from Memories if you don't want to see revisit them, though. Plus, the "For you" tab, which features Google's automatic creations - such as movies, collages, and more - has been moved into Memories, too. This feature, which lets you revisit memories from past years, and it now features new types of memories, such as "the best pics of you and your friends and family" trips, and highlights from the past week. Photos displays all of your photos and videos, and with this redesign, thumbnails are larger, there are auto-playing videos, and there's less white space between each item.Īdditionally, there's a new carousel at the top, and that's for Memories.
The new app has a new design with three tabs at the bottom of the screen.
That starts with a new icon, which you can see above, with a much rounder design than before. Google Photos is celebrating its five-year anniversary this year, and today, the Mountain View giant announced that the app is getting a brand-new look, at least on mobile devices.
